クリスチャンのみなさんは、この本が５章の福音ではなく、２章の福音が基になっていることを覚えておいてください。本の中で、アダムとエバが神との約束を破って以来、人間が自己中心的に生きてきた、神が人間の様子をかわいそうに思い、ひとり子を送ったとあります。しかし聖書では、アダムとエバがエデンの園から追放された時に、神はすでに救い主を送ると約束していたと語っています。この約束は、イエスが送られ、十字架の上で私たちのために死ぬことにより、達成されました。

すべてがイエスについて語り、指し示しているという考え方は、聖書の物語を読んだり教えたりする際に重要な視点となります。ですから、ご家族やお友達にクリスマスのストーリーを伝える時には、この本に書ききれていない、神の大きなストーリーを加えることをお勧めします。

This is a Christmas book that doesn't start from the Annunciation of Mary or her trip to Bethlehem. but from the creation of the world. It helps the reader understand why Christians celebrate Christmas and how Christmas relates to Jesus. Understanding God’s big story helps us to discover the true meaning of Christmas.

As well as being appropriate for children, this book can also help facilitate a gentle conversation with family and friends—particularly those who are not familiar with Christianity.

As Christians read through this book, it is worth bearing in mind that the book focuses on a two-chapter gospel, rather than a five-chapter gospel. The book explains humanity has lived selfishly since Adam and Eve broke their promise with God, and that God sent His Only Son because He felt compassion towards us. However, the Bible also shows God promising a saviour at the time of expelling Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden. This promise was fulfilled through the sending of Jesus to die on a cross for the forgiveness of our sins.

The idea that everything is speaking and pointing to Jesus is a crucial perspective when reading or telling stories from the Bible. This is why we recommend adding this bigger story, which is not fully described in this book when sharing the Christmas story with family and friends.
